Are your State Reps Behaving Badly???

In partnership with Granite State Progress, I would like to share with you a video of some of the State Reps in New Hampshire who are fighting to make it illegal for President Obama to be on the ballot for the 2012 elections.  These people are commonly referred to as “Birther’s”.You may as why is the NH Labor News involved in a “Birther” discussion?  For two reasons:

1.  The President was in New Hampshire TODAY talking about how we need to pass the American Jobs Act and help struggling families get back to work.  He pushes for more local union involvement in Federally funded projects by requiring Project Labor Agreements.  He has also been an advocate for workers against companies trying to break their unions and cheat the workers.

2.  Look closely at the video and see if you can recognize any of the State Reps that are involved in this argument.  These are the some of the Reps who have been so vocal about passing Right To Work.  I also remember it was not to long ago when the Public was cleared out of the gallery for speaking out. Apparently it is ok for a State Rep to make threats against other Reps and Elected officials, but it is not allowable for Union Supporters to take part in their Constitutional Right to be present durning House sessions?

GSP Releases Video of Birther State Rep Behavior That Caused Speaker O’Brien To Launch Investigation
New GSP Video Highlights Some of the More Damning Behavior by Republican State Reps at Last Week’s Ballot Law Commission
CONCORD, NH – A strategy meeting scheduled for today between NH House Speaker Bill O’Brien and birther State Representatives has been canceled pending an investigation into the behavior of those same representatives at last week’s Ballot Law Commission hearing, according to a new article by the Concord Monitor.
At that hearing, several Republican State Representatives erupted in anger after the commission rejected their challenges to President Obama’s citizenship. The Attorney General has requested the Speaker look into the incident, which involved several Republican State Representatives vocally shouting at and threatening state and public officials.
Late yesterday evening, Granite State Progress posted footage of some of that behavior on YouTube. Video transcripts of the hearing circulated by birther advocates edit out those portions of the event.
